Computer Ethics

My Personal Opinion on Computer Ethics
As an artist knowing and following computer ethics is very important. One ethical rule for artists is to give credit when credit it due, a lot of people forget, ignore or don’t know about this. When I began submitting and creating my art on a computer I didn’t know this ethical rule and I have been accused of being an art thief because of it.
It’s not easily available for new artists to find and learn these rules. Just like you can’t take something from an artist without giving credit you cannot repost and, or change a please of artwork and call it your own. I found that non artists are bad for encouraging artists to do this. For example I have drawn some fan art of a character from a video game and a friend of the family, told me to change the colours and make the character my own; luckily I had some sense on ethics at that time.
It is very important to know and follow computer ethics as an artist; if you are not careful you can get into a lot of trouble regarding copy right laws. Most people and companies are not too concerned unless you are making money at their expense, in which case you can be sued. There is a loop hole though if you produce fan art you are protected under parody laws, as long as you are selling it as such.
